Looking for advise on engine issue please
Hello, I'm seeking more advise. I have a 1998 Boxster and switched the key, immobilizer, computer and ignition in the vehicle from a donor Boxster. I put everything in my car and the dash lights turn on, headlights, windows all work. The car after the first accessory switch in ignition works, but I go to start and nothing!!!!! Could it be a fuse, relay or something. It all started when I purchase the original Boxster without a key. Then I bought the donor kit parts. The vehicle sat for 8 years. I'm trying to make sure the engine turn by the crank shaft bolt. I pulled all plugs out and sprayed the inside of the cylinders with oil. Still waiting to see.

First, for reference, lets link your older posts:

Are you certain that the wiring harness is intact? Rodents like to chew these things in a few critical spots, like the big bit of felt in the trunk near where the harness goes into the engine compartment. Bad or disconnected ground? (A big critical ground goes from the starter to the bracket for the SAI Blower.) Quote:
Check all the fuses. Don't assume that the fuses are correct or good. Pull them all. check them, put them in. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1532312891.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1532312918.jpg Have you tried Jumping the starter directly? There are enough potential hazards that I have to say "No, don't do this!" and here's a video of how to do it: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/s5MqC3bWho4?rel=0" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Thank you
Thank you for your help. I really love this car. I hate to see it sit. It deserves to be on the road. I will try these first.
Thank you. |
