Key fob issue
First, yes I searched and could not find this exact issue. When I got the car, the key fob did not work. I replaced the battery and it started working. A couple of days later the light on the key fob was stuck. I followed the directions to reverse it. That worked, but by then the battery was dead in the key fob, so I replaced it again. Now, it lights up but the dash light does not and it does not open the doors or trunks. I found where someone said to put it in the door for five seconds and then press the unlock. That did not work. I found where someone said put it in the ignition for five to ten seconds and then try it. That did not work. The dash light has still not come on.
What do I try next? Thanks |
Check out this thread! Might help.

Yes, I saw that thread and I am all about sending it to PW if needed. What’s gets me is it worked until the battery drained on the fob and now the light on the dash does not work. If someone can say yes, it needs resoldering then off to PW it goes.

I think Particle wave is the electric expert on here, maybe he can add in!

If the light was stuck on, the fob has issues and will need repairs. The car has possibly also locked the key out due to repeated button presses (when the light was stuck on).
To start, the buttons should be replaced, but the IC solder joints shoulder also be checked and re-flowed. After that, you could try re-sync procedures if the fob still doesn't work. |
