'97 bought in July 2004 with 82k on it. Today it has 94k on it. Roughly 6k a year. Had I not drove it home from Miami when I bought it, or driven it to Yosemite from Houston and back last summer, it would have very few additional miles on it!

I purchased my '99 in September 2005 with 59k. Now it has 66k.
I hadn't planned on being a Porsche owner. I bought the car for my best friend who had cancer. He had wanted a sporty 2-seated for the longest time but then his Boxster fund started to take a hit from getting ready for the end. He went into the hospital for the last time about the same time I bought the car. He never saw or drove the car. His wife said he wouldn't have accepted it but I told her I'd park it in the driveway so he would at least have to drive it to move it out of the way.
He left behind a wife and two young boys.
My friend's former employer (O'Brien & Gere) had a benefit golf tournament last month for his two sons. The oldest summed it up best with his t-shirt that simply said 'Cancer Sucks'.
Sorry for the long post.

What a great friend and an awesome story. I assume you'll be keeping that '99 forever.
