Recommendations for bulbs for Litronics
Hi everyone,
I have a 2000 Boxster S with Litronics, and I feel like the bulb light is a bit dimmed (old bulbs?) and I was figuring that modern bulbs would most likely improve the current situation but I am a bit lost as to what I should be replacing them with.
Does anyone have recommendations for bulbs (I'm considering replacing low-beams, hi-beams and fog lights on both sides)?
Is there something I should NOT do? Or something I should consider?

Only the low beams are HID.
I wouldn’t replace the projectors to get a bi-xenon setup happening.
If it were mine, I’d go with morimoto LED for high beam and probably leave the fog lights as halogen. Oh, and replace the Littonic/HID D1S burners with Osram Xenarc at 6000K colour temp.

Hm, so it seems i'm the only one who wants to prevent acrylic glass covered headlamps and acrylic lenses from getting yellow. This is why i only use bulbs with uv cut. Also i only use parts i get from a local parts store, that doesn't sell me cheapo china crap that looks like a quality brand product but is just a fake product. You will be impressed how much better an OEM bulb can be.
Replaced my D2S after 12 years, used Osram D2s. Noticeably better light.
Just my 2 cents…

For the record, there is no acrylic in these headlights and many, many, many people (myself included) have been running "cheapo China crap" HID bulbs for years and have no yellowing. The sun causes that, not bulbs.

Look, I don’t want to lose either of you from the forum. I enjoy learning from folks who have forgotten way more than I’ll ever know about these cars. Like this post - my lights work and I’m pretty sure I’ll never upgrade, but I read this ******************** anyway. Don’t screw it up. Use PM to get your stabs in. Spare the enthusiast here the whatever you call that behavior.

Thanks Particleweave, I did wonder at that as my handbook says D2S, but I figured it was either because mine is RHD, or because mine is a 2002.
I disagree that the cheap burners are as good, as do many others, but I’m sure the OP has a brain and will investigate for themselves and find what’s right for them.
My suggestion is based on the assumption that it would make no sense to bother replacing a still working bulb with anything other than the best available.
