When a car doesn't start its caused by one of the following: fuel, air or spark. Reading codes will often reveal which of the three is the problem. From that point its a problem of systematically eliminating all possible causes. You need a code reader that can read the Porsche-specific codes. Generic codes can be misleading. It is important to be systematic moving from one potential failure point to the next.

If you aren't up to this or don't have the tools have the car flat bedded to a mechanic who can do it.

Definitely check fuses.

go back to the basics.

Does the car have spark?

Have you verified fuel pressure at the rail?

that should be fine to get you started.

I've never had a code that a generic reader and some time with google couldn't figure out.

A: There are lots of codes that don't light the CEL. The CEL is required by law to show emission related faults.

B: There are lots of Porsche specific codes that don't map to generic codes.

C: If you want to take good care of your Boxster, get a code reader that can read the Porsche codes.

D: Don't believe anyone who tells you otherwise!
