Supercharger update

Its taken me a six weeks of phone calls to run down the missing injector and timing controller units. In the course of my calls I found out I was also missing the injector and fuel line as well. Yesterday I ordered the missing parts from TPC racing. Ended up costing me another 700 bucks. I will have an install manual and a complete kit. Wow, it was frustrating running down the parts. Its racing season so the owner of TPC was really busy. When I finally nailed him down he took care of me in one day! Nice guy as well, very helpful. He put up with my calls for weeks. The stuff should be here Tuesday. Im going to order a new belt just to be safe (even though it looks like new) and Im going to change the oil in the supercharger unit. Soon I will have pics and a detailed write up on the install if ther is any interest.

his is a 99 first year for the 3.2 was 2000.

p.s.
are you having any internals strengthened or rebuilt,
might be a good idea SC'ing adds allot of strain to the
engine, especially if you plan to atuocross or track it.

Oh yeah there's interest on your install. Document it with pix and post it all! I'd love to know how long it took you, what can of worms you opened up trying it, etc.

No, at this point Im not rebuilding the motor. Keep in mind its only 4.5 lbs of boost and I dont abuse my car. I installed a ATI Procharger on an LT-1 with 10 lbs of intercooled boost without a problem. Everybody told me I was going to launch my motor that summer, it never happened. I did however burn my clutch in short order. Im prepared for this to happen to the box at some point. If the motor would need rebuilt I would do it myself. Remember Im a do it yourself advocate. I look at it like this... The shop wants 1000.00 to 1500.00 for install I could use that money for a million other things. To answer your other question. No, Im not going to race the car I just want some more low end grunt and I just love the sound of a blower.

Randall:
I will take as many pics as you would like and document the install.

Cj:
Im planning on taking a video of the car while it idles so you can hear how it sounds.

What do you think you will get out of the 4.5 lbs, HP and Torque wise? If you dont know thats ok just wondering. The main reason I bought an S is because of the low end pull, and it would be interesting to see what your final cost vs. buying an S would be???

Go to ImagineAuto website and see how the 2.5L Boxster w/ a blower flys. I was amazed!

Have you done a compression test or cylinder differential test? And have you had the 99 engine sleeved and all the other 2.5 "updates"?
I see new rear tires in your imediate future, SC whine from a red light becomes addictive.

Yeah it is indeed impressive for only 4.5lbs of boost. I wonder why more people don't have it.

I must be missing something here...why do you need to change the SC oil already?

I bought the the kit used with 20k miles on the blower unit. I believe its recomended to change the oil every 30k. Im going to do it prior to install for it will make my life much easier. The kit is in such nice shape that you wouldnt hardly even know it was ever on a car.

Iowas:
Im sorry I missed your question, I believe this 4.5 lbs of boost blower set up is supposed to give the car 60 to 80 hp. I will have much less $$$ than buying an S model plus hopefully my car will have that unmistakable whine. If I would have bought the kit new for 6k plus and paid 2k for install then maybe it would have been a bad idea.
