Comparing brake pads

Has anyone found a comparison on stopping distances on brake pads? I'm considering using Akebono on my next brake job but I consistently hear opinions that they have a little less bite. My 986S brakes saved me in a full stop on I95 when traffic stopped suddenly. A few feet of longer braking distance would have had me in the trunk of a Toyota. But the standard pads sure generate a lot of dust

I switched from factory to Akebono on my Audi. Akebono do create less dust but are not as powerful as factory, but work well enough. It's a balance of what you are looking for cleaner wheels or quick stopping wheels

Have not seen comparos you request but from seat of pants operating, Akebono (Euro, Ceram-act or whatever) pads indeed feel to have a bit little less initial bite (this is from a number of different vehicles: Porsche, BMW and Lexus).

That said, the inordinate amount of time I've saved cleaning excessive brake dust from said vehicles has allowed me to leave much much sooner under all circumstances. In turn this allows me to leave more than sufficient stopping distances in all types of traffic; light, medium and heavy j/k

Seriously though, a bit difference in initial bite but truly no discernible stopping differences all-in-all. On cars I track (P-cars especially) I typically use PFC pads which are overkill (and can squawk a bit) in street applications.

I have Akebono low-dust (ceramic-ish or somesuch) on my E320. Definitely has lower initial bite than the stock Jurids. I have Textars all-around on my Box, brake dust be damned.
