What would your vanity license plate say?

If I had the money (I'm still paying the car off!) I'd get a license plate that read "MYPRSH" or "BOXSTR" just to spite everyone that ever gave me crap about my old car (1995 Acura Integra - needed LOTS of work done to it) - and believe me when I say that I got hassled by EVERYONE about my car. What would your vanity plate say?

:chicken:

boggtown 07-30-2006 06:07 PM

It only costs like $20-30. Do it. You can ask for availibility while your down there if they arnt to busy.

Iatros 07-30-2006 06:14 PM

I have a 100% completely original one that I'm planning on using...

But I can't tell you what it is :P

ESPECIALLY if you live in FL.

On my 74 Vette... I was considering getting : VETDRMZ

But just didn't feel right about it :)

eslai 07-30-2006 06:15 PM

I'd get one that says "GRRLPWR" just to cement everyone's image of the Boxster. Haw haw haw.

Or maybe "HRDRESR"... "LV2SHOP"..."LUVBOYS" har dee har har.

(I'm sick, flying high on dayquil and excedrin, excuse me)

blinkwatt 07-30-2006 09:41 PM

I considered "Im18!!!" or "Boxgasm". I went to call the DMV and they wanted $65 per plate with a $55 fee per year(something around that ballpark). That was the killing point for me.

boggtown 07-30-2006 10:01 PM

Dang! 65 a plate? Cali must be rollin in the dough with that highway robbery. I got 2 plates for $35 and I dont know about the fee per year thing. All that for an extra letter, we only get 6, but the 7th doesnt seem worth it anymore, lol.

eslai 07-30-2006 10:01 PM

"IM18" would be a great way to make everyone think you're a total choad, you realize.

Yeah it could come off like that but,but everyone assumes we are pricks for driving a Porsche already. It was my 18th bday present to myself and I'm proud of that.

eslai 07-30-2006 11:15 PM

I guess, but again, an old Boxster isn't any more expensive than a 350Z, and I would think that a guy driving one of those with an "IM18" plate would also be seen as a jerk, without the Porsche shield. Humility is its own reward, yo.

Jump 07-31-2006 04:35 AM

"Box-Star", of course a combination of Boxster and Rock Star. Not that I'm a Rock Star but when driving the Porsche I feel like one!

boggtown 07-31-2006 07:24 AM

I never thought of getting my age because it would change every year. Maybe if I got "88 child" or something I could keep it for a while. Last opinion on vanity plate idea "True G" hahahaha

denverpete 07-31-2006 08:08 AM

From my biker days I always wanted DILLIGAF, but it's too long.

I just found out a few weeks ago that I'm getting divorced. So in a month or so, it might just read: WAS HIS......

Vanity Plate

I just checked: "BAD FAD" is still available in California. My Boxster S was a wedding gift from my sister and brother-in-law. My license plate reads: "WDINGIFT"

Wedding present! :) Damn, that's sweet. I never thought of registering at the Porsche dealer. Maybe in my next life!! Or for my 50th wedding anniversary.

It's a little more expensive here in Texas... and we still only get 6 characters.

I think it's about $70 for the plates, then $40 MORE on your yearly registration to keep the plates.

I thought about getting 'FR4Y'

'SCHNEL' was already taken... guy here in a yellow Audi A4, I think, has that one.

Maybe 'L0L WTF'

I am converting an old mansion into a hotel in Colombia. It is turning out to be a lot more work than I ever imagined so I am not reading the forum as much.

i just checked and NIN EIT 6 is available in IL. you guys like that one?

Rodger 02-15-2007 11:15 PM

AK is friendly to custom plate buyers.....$30 for two years on top of normal registration fees, but only six letters. Also, since AK's population is small, lots of plates are stil available. I'd figure all the good ones in CA are already taken.

I ordered "NEIN86", had it for two weeks, than switched it to "1CEBOX".

I suspect I'll run into the origianl "ICEBOX" owner when I go to my first PCA autocross.

Bavarian Motorist 02-16-2007 05:35 AM

My license plate proudly reads, LOL_OWND

:)

fishage 02-16-2007 05:49 AM

standard issue plates from the dealer on the boxster.

had "IXIVIV" on my 944.

fishage 02-16-2007 05:51 AM

I'm sure this link has been tossed around before, but here's the ACME License plate maker for some fun...

I've seen the suggestion for my 911 (or someone else's..)

plates

My last name is Moxey, and my brother has a mustang with plates "Moxstang" so my wife bought me plates "Moxster" for xmas. I thought this was cool , but having only driven the car 4 times (then stored) the dirty looks and jealosy I have encounted while driving it, I have since returned the plates. I don't want to put a bullseye on the car for people "************************************s" of this world to damage it. The only other person I know with a boxster had his car keyed from tail light to headlight, not sure why, jealosy I guess.

Chills 02-16-2007 10:46 AM

Mine would say "CHILLS"

Original, huh?

Darkhamr 02-16-2007 07:43 PM

Consider yourselves lucky. In Ontario custom plates from 6-8 letters are $280 plus $70 a year for the sticker. Got my TIB 2NR plates two years ago and now I'll have to cough up for something new. I don't think I'll ever get something vehicle specific again though. LOL I'll probably get something to do with the home based business I started that paid for this car. :D

Dr. Kill 02-16-2007 08:54 PM

I previously tried for VOTEGOP and GOPYES but they were already taken in the great state of NJ.

I have Airborne plates now though - apparently if you live in the Garden State and are a former paratrooper, you qualify for free plates with the airborne crest on them. This is why I don't move.
