Thought I would change the appearance
I didn't want to do anything not easily reversible. I had my daughter help and this is what we came up with. On the 986 body there are groves. I filled the groves with red pin striping (bumpers front and back, side between door and rear wheel. It gives it a bit of pop.

Interesting as already mentioned subtle, if its easy to reverse when you get tired of it gone!!! I think my taste a less contrasting color but I like the idea.

I was tired of the silver on silver and I'm big on contrasting colors and personalization. Not for everyone I know. Thanks for all the input.

Silver I think is tough to do rim color changes with since the calipers are red. Didn't feel black would work, red would hide the calipers so this is what I came up with. Not sure on the flag. I'll give that some time. Not into changing the body, I like the shape the way it is.

I like it. I wish I had contrasting silver stitching on my black seats. It would have the same effect of breaking up an otherwise monotone color scheme.
I expect it was fun to have your daughter involved. I know I enjoy my father-daughter times such as teaching her to drive a car with a manual transmission. (I used our old Camry as the victim, not the Boxster. But, she picked it up quickly and she probably wouldn't have put too much wear on the clutch.)

I like it but would have used a color other than red. Maybe a dark gray. More discreet. Enjoy!

The pinstriping is ok, but lose the flag.

I enjoy the responses that are so direct. Like there is a right or wrong answer.
Yeah, we had fun doing it together. She is very detailed, I am not so I let her do the stripes.
I would be curious to see others ideas.

I actually like the red from the side (stripe and lettering), but it looks out of place on the rear bumper.

I like it! Adds a bit of interest to the car. Nicely done.

Thanks for all the responses. I'm done for now. Just glad it's easily reversible. My taste challenges monthly these days. Well except about owing a 986. Love these cars.
