Should my Boxster have come with the rear wind deflectors?

I recently bought a 2001 Boxster S 3.2L 6speed Manual, all leather interior etc. I've noticed the mounts for the center wind deflector is installed on the roll bars and I'm wondering if this would mean that the deflectors should have been included or not.

I'd say they grew legs sometime in the last 16 years.
They come up for sale here periodically.
You can search on CL or eBay too.

If you have the mounts installed, my guess is your car probably had it at one time. My car didn't come with it originally and I had to install the mounts They came with the deflector kit. Expensive pieces of plastic. $460.00. It comes with the 2 roll-bar mesh inserts also. I was pleasantly surprised how well they actually work. If you have the mesh parts, the deflector is available separately.

Check your option code sticker for 551.

Early on, these items were easily stolen and sold on ebay, cragilist, etc. for quick cash.

It should have the deflectors if you have the mounts, but it's a commonly misplaced or stolen item. If you buy a set I recommend securing them with a black zip tie to the roll bar.

Yes. A lot of them go "missing" like manuals and spare keys. Fortunately the windscreen can be found on Ebay, as Steve mentioned, for about a third of what it costs to buy it from Porsche.

They also love to fly off at high speed if not anchored securely.

When I purchased my boxster 4 years ago it came with the broken inserts in the trunk, the guy I purchased the car from said they blew off on the freeway and got ran over....I managed to find another set and some zip ties
