Window rolls up, then down half way

I fully depress the window switch and the window rolls all the way up automatically, but then it automatically rolls down half way. I can override this by depressing the window switch lightly and manually creep the window up to close position. I sometimes hear a click noise when the window rolls all the way up. This must be some sort of protection feature that prevents kids fingers from getting smashed. I suspect a switch may be flakey or some kind of interference. Any recommendations where to start looking? thanks.

Sounds like the window regulator is out of adjustment and it's bumping the top gasket and coming down due to the safety mechanism. Search the forum for 'window regulator adjustment'. Hope this helps.

Do the windows operate normally with the top down ? Could be the top switch.
