How does the beast breathe ???

Simple question..... as i was washing my 987S, i noticed that the driverside vent is essentially blocked off---bit the passenger side vent seems to be open....

Is this the air intake?

One's for show?

I could easily be wrong, but I thought the passenger side vent was for engine compartment ventillation.

Hi,

Right side Vent is for the Engine Bay Cooling Fan, Fan is actuated when engine bay temp exceeds 185°F, below this threshold, it provides passive ventilation. Left side is the intake for the engine, it looks blocked because there is a baffle inside to deflect any water which may enter the vent to avoid Hydro-locking the motor. Hope this helps...

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99
