time for brakes - rotors and pads

Pelican, Suncoast, or Autozone? Brands that don't squeak or squeal?

I don't want fancy, high performance brakes, just a basic set that works. I have a 2007 base model Box. I don't want to over spend.

Meyle rotors from eBay ~ $80 for a pair
PowerStop ceramic pads ~ $50/axle on ebay or amazon

They work great
I have them on my car and use the Powerstop pads as my DD pads

No need to spend a lot of $ on others

I have Powerstop ceramic pads. They work fine, no squeak or dust.

I'm not sure if centric makes a ceramic posi quiet pads for your year, but I've used them on several vehicles and they seemed to do well for street, and very affordable.

I also like Powerstop these days. No squals and little to no dust and priced right. They are excellent for a street car and I have them on 3 of my cars.

Brembo, Zimmerman, ATE, Sebro for rotors.

I used Textar (OEM) for pads. Sure they dust like crazy but also work well. But next time I may try something different.

If you want to stick with OE, take a look at parts.com - it'll come from Circle Porsche. Otherwise I stick with Pelican or Amazon.

I read a thread recently where some pads have holes for the sensors, and some do not. Which ones DO NOT have holes? I want to avoid them. I like my sensors doing their job.

I usually check www.********************************.com prices too, they're very reasonable. I think the last time I used Centric pads and replaced the sensors they're pretty cheap.

Bought my rotors and pads off ebay. No problems just make sure you get ceramic pads, no brake dust!

I went with Zimmerman Z-coated rotors for my Boxster S. Got them from Pelican and they were a lot less than what Porsche wanted, but still not cheap. I really like the Z-coating.

For pads I went with the original Textar. They stop great, but wow, the dust! My next set of pads will be ceramic for sure! Based on what others are saying, I think I'll go with the Powerstop ceramic ones.

Two things you never want to scrimp on. Brakes and tires because it is always better to stop fast than go fast. I replaced original rotors with Zimmerman and the pads are EBC yellowstuff. Very happy with the result and excellent stopping ability.
