"Beep" when arming the alarm

Finally splurged from not having a working fob to ordering a brand new one - now have automatic lock/unlock functionality, etc.

Is there a way to activate a "beep" when either the alarm is armed or disarmed, or you only have the flashing lights to work with?

The system is designed to beep only when there is an alarm FAULT, if all is working, the headlights flash. You cannot change this.

Would be nice if the site had "likes", "helpful", or other kind of marks/reactions.

Jeff, now it makes sense.
My car would beep. Sometimes randomly.

After addressing the microswitches in doors, it stopped beeping. I thought I did something.
Now I know.
Thanks.

Can be found online... the site where I got my free manual seems to have disappeared, but there are others if you look.

If you have access to a Porsche scan tool like Durametric, PST II, or PIWIS; you can read the alarm fault file and see the last ten times the alarm when into fault, and the location causing it. Invaluable when trying to diagnose a fault issue.

Porsche has been on the warpath against sites publishing copies of just about anything concerning these cars as they see it as a violation of their intellectual property rights. We had to take down all of the factory TSB bulletins over on RennTech because of this, and actually have to discourage posters from pasting factory technical information as well. You really do not want to tangle with their legal department, they are pretty nasty about stuff like this.

Well…

….you bought what was a $50,000 German sports car.

You should spend $20 and buy an owner’s manual for that $50,000 thing in your driveway.

If you bought a used private jet, would you fly it without the owner’s manual?

Just buy one.

And change your oil.

And get off my lawn.

Well... yes. it was 50,000 USD worth German car.
Now it is only a German car. Should not be worth more than 5,000 after 20 years.
Hence, 20 for a manual... I will find some free online somewhere.

If that was a repair manual, I would get it.
And i did.
