987/997 Seat install in 986 Boxster

So, I've search through the site, I really have - but can't seam to find the answer to my Q.

I used to have a 2006 Boxster S with Sport Plus seats - which I absolutely LOVED!

Does anyone know if the 997/987 Sport Plus Seats fit in a 986 Boxster? I'm looking at a set that have only back adjustment in power, rest is manual (slide and height adjustment).

Three concerns:
1. Will they just "bolt in" - bracket and hole pattern the same?
2. Concerned about clearance at the upper outside "back support"(upper back wing) area as that area looks like it might interfere with the seat belt/roll bar area.
3. Wiring - since only the back-rest is powered, I assume the wiring should be straight forward? I'll just skip the airbag connections....

I'm tall, so having this seat fit properly in the car is fairly critical - I need to be able to move it all the way back.

Thanks for your comments and suggestions!

Attaching a photo of the new seats (997/987) for reference.

A photo of these type of seats ina 986 would be AWESOME!!

Todd

Check the Pelican Parts web site. There is a DIY for installing full power seats: Pelican Technical Article: Installing 997 Seats Into a 986 Boxster

According to that article, they should just bolt in. The article also describes the wiring, but yours should be much simpler because they are two-way seats, not full power.

The clearance issue for the back support is not discussed in the article. You may just need to take the plunge and see if there is a problem.

I may be undertaking a similar project with full power heated seats, so please post anything you learn.

Good luck.

No prob. Show us pics after the install. I'd like to see more pics of how they look in the car.
