PASM for the 986
I was going through my copy of Bentley's Service Manual and I noticed that PASM was an option on the 986. Is it possible to install the required parts after the fact on my 2004 S?

It would probably be cheaper to sell the car and buy one with it.
You would need to add all of the PASM sensors, controls, pumps, etc.; and significantly reprogram the DME to get it to work. This is a case of the "the view ain't worth the climb", not unlike converting one of these cars from Tiptronic to manual. Can it be done? Sure, but you would never get your money out of it, and any astute buyer would know the car did not come with it.

Koni FSD is like a mechanical PASM, maybe an option if it is time for a suspension refresh and you are looking for that type of capability?

Steve - I will look into the Konis, they may help with my new autocross hobby.

I am.running them on my 2000 S with the M030 suspension, it is a good match for me, I really like it. Much better than the old worn out struts that were on there before.
Somebody else on here just got them too.
There are lots of good choices, externally adjustable Koni sports are another one, but the FSD were a little more budget friendly  I really like them.

What year(s) was PASM offered? I can't ever recall it being offered on a 986. PSM was..... but PASM?

Sorry, my mistake. Bentley actually has the item listed as PSM (Porsche Stability Management). The PASM stands for Porsche Active Suspension Management, which is on more recent models.

I have PASM on my cayenne and it is nice. I can adjust the height and stiffness of the suspension on the fly. I normally ride in sport, but when I know a section of rough road is coming up I put it in comfort. It would be nice on the boxster with some of the sections of road around here.
