Reawakening '01 986 After Long Nap

Due to a collision of "stuff" that came up in life I have a 2001 which has been sitting unused in the garage for 5 years. It was put away with a tankful of Stabil treated fuel plus moth crystals in key places to scare away the mice. Battery died the first winter, did jump it once to get it started back then and put it on the Porsche tender from there. Has not been started since. No leaks or obvious issues from the outside.

My backup daily driver just died. Good weather is hopefully coming here to New England and my 5 year old is itching for Daddy to get the "zoomy car" going. So that's my goal.

I plan to take out the plugs and try moving the pistons manually before trying the starter. Mystery oil and a soak if they're stuck. Check the fluids. Swap over the other car's battery. Move all the stuff that's accreted around the Box so it can get out...

What else is essential to do before trying to fire it up once more?
