Replacing head unit.
Just replaced my Becker CR 220, with a Kenwood KMM BT518 HD. Harness that came with it was 1787 from Crutchfield. On my 2002 Boxster S, I had the Bose 5000 System. I had never heard of the 5000, but it had the rear speaker system, which worked well with the Becker system. The supplied harness from Metra #1787 was fine but rear speakers did not work. I discovered that the brown connector had only 4 connectors, whereas the Becker connectors had 8 connectors. Tracing back, coonectors 1,2 and 7,8, from the Becker plugs were non-existent in the 1787 plugs. Connected the missing connectors to the brown plug and "voila" have superb sound.
