First Dieselgate, now this.

Got to start questioning the decision making process at Volkswagen Group. These kind of bad decisions don't get made by hourly employees.

Damaging Porsche emails turn up in Paul Walker wrongful death suit

I just read the quote

"As many as 200 of the 1,200 Carrera GTs which Porsche produced had been 'totaled' in the first two years it was sold (2004-2006)," a statistic the author blithely noted while relaying the news that a body shop employee had crashed another vehicle into a telephone pole.

"Another Carrera GT bites the dust," he wrote. "Looks like he was going more than 30 (mph) to me!" He went on to ask if the numbers were correct because if so, it would be "great news to the remaining owners as the GT becomes more rare."

I don't see anything there that says it is a problem with the car.

The author was making fun of piss poor drivers and how their reckless abandon has increase the value of those left in existence is accurate.

This lawsuit is bull to begin with an any company is smart to try and run from it as far as possible, any judge with a brain would throw it out, and Paul Walker himself would be ashamed that it exist.

1. The car was on old tires.

2. It's a Le Mans chassis for the road, what do you expect.

3. Sure people wrecked the cars, that isn't Porsches fault, that's the owners.

More witch hunting. Were RR & PW unaware of the CGT's wicked characteristics before they climbed in that fateful day? I doubt it. They went out and did something stupid while showing off and paid the ultimate price. The RR people need to own it. The PW people should go after the RR estate, but of course they don't have the deep pockets that Porsche has. It's all a money grab for the survivors.

Just because 200 (now 205) have been wrecked just proves there are people with more money than skill. Typical of most supercars.

Though the car was in mostly good nick, with around 25,000 miles on it. The engine makes 400 horsepower to the wheels with some mild bolt-on upgrades, and it has a Stoptech Big Brake kit, Pfadt coilover suspension, racing seats, harnesses, and more. All of it worked.
The bad news? It also had six-year-old Goodyear F1 Assymetric tires on it. They had less than 5,000 miles on them, so they looked nearly new. But looking new and gripping like new are two different propositions entirely.

From what I've heard all it takes to tame a CGT are supersports in the first place. Modern tire technology makes the car much more acceptable for low skilled drivers.
