Maybe a n00b question

Maybe a stupid one, but do I need to be especially careful when washing the Box because of the top? This is my first convertible with this kind of top, so do I need to do something special in order to prevent water and/or soap from soaking in? I always have my cars hand washed, so I'm careful that way. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'm new to this one.

Also, should I be worried at all by having the car in the rain (with the top closed, of course) a lot? I live in Portland, OR and it rains A LOT here, and when this car becomes my primary driver, it will be in the elements a lot of the time, except while at home, when it will be in the garage.

Nope nothing to worry about! I wouldn't let soap dry on the top as it might leave marks on it, but other then that you can wash it like normal. It's canvas and quite tough even when it's pretty old. The plastic window not so much, but the top its self is pretty tough ****************.

I only wash the top 1 out of 5 washes so I just don't spray and wet it as it generally dones't really need to be done. When I do I just wash it like the rest of the car.

I do have the Porsche top conditioner. ITs pretty cool because it makes the top really water resistant. When you spray water on it, it comes off like a freshly waxed hood, just rolls right off and will not absorb. It's pretty cool and seems to keep the roof in good condition when it does get wet.

I see that it is an aerosol.

Do I need to be careful not to get on the paint or rear ( plastic ) window ?

How often do you apply ?

I have never used the Porsche product but have been very pleased with Raggtopp products...never a worry about over spray and the water beads just like the Porsche stuff....an application usually last in excess of 6 months...and I drive the car every day summer and winter.
