brakes don,t feel too good

Hi guys
driving my 2001 2.7 boxster today , the brake pedal feels firm, but the braking is not to good is this a brake servo problem? , its not every time but is a concern, there,s deffo something wrong

You have checked the brake fluid level, know when it was last changed, looked at the wheels for leaks?

yep brake fluid level is good and no leaks , not to sure when it was last changed , but if the fluid was spent ,it would be a constent issue , I have an occasional problem , feels like the pads are made of wood
