Nice! Just noticed it didn't have roll bars, and it did have storage compartments behind the seats and a five gauge cluster. And how cool would it have been to have individually controlled vent fans?!

Looks like the interior has faded a little.
Thanks for sharing!

			Nice and thanks for sharing.
The interior does look faded but is it really. The color looks to be peach.

Besides the taillights this design has aged really well. Looks timeless.

Wow. That brings up a lot of memories for me. I saw this prototype at a car show here in Houston in 93 or 94 and thought the AC vents in the center console were really interesting and how I was sure I'd get my finger caught in there if it really ended up in the console instead of the dash!
A decade later I bought an early production first year 1997 model. And get this... it had aftermarket ROH wheels (Aussie made I think) on it that looked exactly like those prototype wheels! The problem is that they were as heavy as led shoes on the car and I took them off as soon as I could afford to do so.

 Thanks for sharing!

I was there back on January 6th with the PeachState Porsche Club. Did 2 demo laps (what a blast) and then we had dinner at the 356. By the time I got done with dinner the museum was closed so I missed seeing the prototype. Thank you so much for sharing this!

No problem! Always happy to share with fellow enthusiast
The interior does look faded in person, I'm not sure if it was originally that color or if it's faded over the past 24 years.

What a beautiful car! In my opinion it's a timeless design.

Cheers

				I read...

.....that it would be on display for the Boxster's 20th, do you know how long it will be on display?

I asked the museum staff how long it would be in Atlanta. He said typically the displays rotate every 6 months. The Boxster was there for the previous 6 months and recently they rotated the displays but left the Boxster. The staff didn't know how long it would be there but assumed another 6 months (until the displays rotate again). If you are planning to make a trip you can call the Porsche Experience they are very helpful and may be able to provide more information. It's definitely worth the trip! The facility in outstanding!

Cheers

I saw the prototype at the Detroit auto show when it was unveiled (still have two copies of the prototype brochure). The interior colour was originally a terra cotta hue. Took my time finally getting around to buying one!
