I could hear little tiks and tacs coming from the dashboard as the on board computer works everything out.

The DME (aka ECU, aka engine computer) is in the rear trunk.

The immobilizer (aka car alarm) is under the driver seat.

Wrong. Mileage errors on the cluster are not uncommon and More is not trying to do anything "fishy".

And the OBC (on board computer) is in the cluster. The mileage is stored there (and possibly the ECU and immobilizer).

Try disconnecting the cluster for a few minutes and see if that helps.
