Anyone using LED in their Fog Lamps ?

I have to repair a headlight that has gone out, was thinking about doing the wiring "strap" so the fog lights stay on during hi and low beam. I was curious about input from actual experience with replacing the H7 Bulb in the Fog's with a LED and how you like it ?

Thanks in advance

Dwight

I converted my fogs to DRL's and used these bulbs. Very happy with the results.

DRLs required in Canada, so I wired my fogs with LEDs. They don't throw out any projected light but they look great as DRLs.

Do those LED bulbs burn out the surround over time?

I have 50w LED bulbs as fog lights too, just experimenting, really.
As Jesse noted, they don't throw off much in the way of light or heat either for that matter.

I find the Fog/Driving lights to be very helpful illuminating out the sides, being able to see the road lines better.
I personally would be reluctant to give that advantage up just for looks.
+1 on making them stay on with High beams. I need to do that

I would like to change out the Parking lights to something brighter as these are my choice for Daytime use. I have seen some options out there and that discussions have been done here about those but there doesn't seem to be a clear option

I have also converted my fogs to DRLs. The concern of using the stock 55 watt fog lights on a regular basis is they will eventually discolor (read ruin) the plastic cover. If you use the 55 watt lights for a period of time put you hand on the plastic headlight lens and it is hot; very hot.

I am using the fog lights for looks only. I have gone through a number of LED lights. I tried to match the color of the factor Xenons lights and could never do it. Most were too white.

Last year I installed some cheap LEDs from China. They are "warm" in color and have the appearance of the stock lights. They are not white. At $1.74 each they are worth a shot if you're thinking of a change.

I also have done the conversion of the fogs to DRL's, but in my case I really prefer the amber look, so I went with amber LED's.

Very happy with the result.

Thanks - DM
