Yaa, I found out how important class is in auto-X.
I managed to get myself in a class that only has about 3 cars in it and I find myself in one of the top 3 spots every race, so I'm quite impressed with my abilities and have bragging rights and 3rd place medals up the wazoo. 
I ran with the lower classed cars previously and consistently finished over 25 out of 30 cars. Its amazing how stickier tires and the class bump got rid of all my competition and improved my rank.
