"I have always had built in radar detectors(at some point I'm going to have to see what this baby will do.) but I'm now considering a cordless battery operated so I can use it in my other cars. PNI makes one I looked at. What's the battery life? Do they work o.k.?"

milist, I have a Escort Solo S2 and I love it ! I still think that the Valentine is better, but I believe the Escort is the best cordless available. Almost never faults, give more than adequate advance warning. I drive about 300 miles a week and have to replace the battery about every two months ( 2 AA ). Only complaint is I cannot hear it when the top is down on the freeway so I have to rely on the visuals, but other than that I am very pleased....
