They can help you in giving you a little time to slow down. My brother runs LIDAR in middle Georgia, they shoot the cars from the rear as they go under the overpass he sits on. This product probably would not help in this situation. His LIDAR gun is pretty cool, it takes a digital photo of the back of your car showing the date and speed on the photo. Pretty hard to beat in court.
For a front shoot this product decreases the distance needed to clock you, that is how you have a little time to slow down.
