Check Fuse Row C #3 , D3
Do it correctly - remove the fuse and physically inspect it for the correct Amperage and measure for continuity.
Did the carpet get wet? If in doubt feel under the seats for wetness.

Here is a link to a photo and description of the location of the relays.Just feel the largest relay while operating any of the switches you mentioned. If you feel the click, the relay and the switch and that fuse are O.K.

But we're wasting time and bandwidth unless you have done a proper check of the appropriate fuses and wet carpet.Lots of vulnerable electrics under the seat and at the lowest part of the floor so blocked drains from the top will cause corrosion down there and endless electrical problems until you remedy that.
For more info ,look in the Bentley Manual. If you don't have one ,you'll be lost working on the Boxster.A great investment Your Owners manual shows relay locations(2)

Also search the Boxster Forums. Common problem - see RennTech for a whole section devoted to your issue.

Just search in Renntech986 section for for "Relays top windows" lots there and here on the 986 Forum.

Check the switch for the roof latch. Sometimes the spring gets tired and doesnt contact. Try putting some tape or something on the hook to give it a bit of extra length. It worked on mine. I used a piece of those felt pads you put on the feet of chairs so they dont scratch the floors.Sticky back too.

Thanks for this guys

UPDATE
floor is bone dry
I found that roof is actually working fine. just the windows don't drop
both windows stopped at exactly the same time.

so the only fault is that both windows do not operate from door sensor
window switches or triggered from the roof operation

thanks again
Dave
