996 axles on 986

Well while prepping my car (98 base 5 speed) to change the trans fluid and shaft seals, I noticed the right rear axle shaft is newer. It has the tag with the following: Sauger HA/R Schalter p/n 996.332.024.03. According to Pelican this fits the 996 Carrera C4 and has been superseded by 996.332.024.13. The interesting thing about this is that Pelican only shows the Porsche 986.332.024.13 axle at $795 for the 98 Boxster, but The 996 version has an OEM Loebro axle available for $495. This axle has been on my car and has had no issues, so this could be an economical option.
