I had a similar problem and replaced the cap with the updated .04. I thought that solved the problem but with the transaxle removed to install the LN Engineering ISMB kit, it was clear that the coolant tank was leaking and, it had expanded. The tech who replaced the tank said that if you move the wire bundle next to the tank, it's easier to reach the hoses etc. After 15 years of service, the tank just crapped out. Glad it didn't totally rupture before it was replaced.
