I have a tapping sound that is coming from my transmission. I can hear it when taking off from a stop ( tap tap stop). initially I thought it was the cv joints as the boots were in bad shape. Replaced the two rear axles. I feel so dumb, as I assumed the sound for sure was the cv joints, and did not do a through check. I've lifted the rear passenger side of the car and put car in neutral and and rotate the wheel and hear the sound is coming from the transmission. any ideas as to what is the cause?
