Door panel speaker stock upgrade
 

My door speaker blew, can anyone suggest a decent replacement? I don't need anything fancy. I understand that they are 5.25 woofers. I have all my audio stock and not upgrading anything. Just want to replace the door speakers. Non bose. I have searched the forum but all I found is upgrades with HU and amp. 2001 base

He had an upgraded amp that actually drove the door speakers with higher frequency (not just bass) . Do you have a stock amp?

Actually I did not rewire anything, it is putting out bass only.

I used the same Pioneer 6.25 in my '01 2.7 and a '99 996
with stock amps. Sound is terrific and basically plug and play. great fit.

One of the reasons when you search they all talk about the HU is because that alone is such a huge upgrade to the whole system. Stock just isn't very good, especially non-bose.

I put a pair of focals in the doors and really like the sound vs. stock paper speakers. I think I went with the 130's.

I just did dash speakers to blaupunkt simple blues, but have some jbl gto on order ihopefully i will like the sound better. The blaupunkts do sound better than stock. I also just swapped the 4 channel amp to a 6 channel 996 cadrio amp, that really made a difference. Next will be adding the rear speaker kit the upgrading doors. Probably alll jbl, looking at the compent for the doors but only installing the woofer. I also saw a kicker 6.5 thin woofer that gets into the 30 hz range that looked interesting but these days i am more of simple non head ache mods.
