His 944T came with ROW and a 300HP chip. He generally is faster than me on the straights but his car leans quite a bit in the corners. He can hold me off for a few laps but waves me by when it becomes too much work. I've talked to him about his excessive lean, thinking he might have some bushings that are worn out (it has 145K mi on it), but he doesn't seem to want to check it out. You are correct, I'm faster in the corners than he is - I make a lot of time between 8 - 10 (he's between gears there). I run about 3-4 sec faster a lap than he does. He was really frustrated this yr with being passed so much and was talking that this might be his last yr at COTA. I understand his frustration but still LOVE the course. When you think about it, his 951 is the 1980s version of my car as far as power and balance.

You have a good ear. I have PSE and have it permanently on (although it would be on when I'm tracking). It blows at a 94dB rate. I know that b/c Laguna Seca had a 92dB limit when I ran there after 2014 Porsche Parade and the noise police black flagged me. Since my PSE was permanently on, I had to short shift out of T5 past their listening hut.

I'll take your word on the BMW. Don't know much about them.
