Hello from Chesapeake VA

Hello all.

I just got a 20000 986 2.7L. Its my first Porsche and first project car. I plan on doing as much of the work as possible myself. I have the Bentley Book, The 101 projects book and just ordered the duramertic enthusiast kit. Looking forward to contributing to the forum.

The car overheated the day I got it. The posts in this forum pointed me toward the coolant tank cap. Seems fine now. Thanks for all the great information you guys post.

Welcome.

My only advice, Use the 4 designated spots porsche put in the car for jacking up. Just thought of it because you mentioned pelican and Bentley. I used both books and my mechanic pointed out first time seeing the car I had jacking related issues.

Anyhow best of luck. Enjoy.

Welcome to the addiction....

Check that cooling tank for leaks. Look in around and under the carpet in back. There should be no fluid anywhere but in the tank. It's a normal problem as these cars age.

We would even like pictures of the car!
