I've looked into it before but never really ended up doing it. Having said that, your paint will only benefit from all the prep required. If you've never clayed your car before, do it. You'll be surprised how much crap comes off even if you've never driven your car in the winter and have always garaged it. If a car is new to me, I always follow this up with a thorough compounding to get all the fine scratches and swirls out. Polish if necessary and then throw on a coat of your favourite wax. It's a pretty tedious process (takes me at least 2-3 days doing it by myself) but its worth it. Only two panels were recently painted on my boxster but most people assume I painted the whole car
