Long Time Lurker / First Time Poster
 

I've been reading these posts since two summers ago when we bought our 03 Base / 5 speed. There is a ton of knowledge on the forum. Now that the weather has turned for the better and it's out of storage I'm looking forward to putting some more miles on it!

The 03 should be a nice ride. Just be sure your miles include lots of curves. Makes for a lot more fun.

how long was it in storage.........

December thru April. Found heated space for a reasonable rate just down the street from where I work. I can't bring myself to run it in the and salt they put on the roads up here when it snows.

Muzzle -- I really enjoy it. I find myself looking for the longest, curviest distance between two points

I know the feeling. Mines been "under construction" for the past two summers and now it is finally in good enough shape to hit the roads.

if you don't believe they own a box, then why don't you ignore them? and the people who trust the poster can proceed with business as usual.

"Pics or it didn't happen" is a standard (almost universal) greeting for new folks on internet forums that specialize on a certain something, be it a car, guns, watches, airplanes, or just about anything else. It is meant as a friendly encouragement :cheers:

Where I come from condemning someone as a liar the instant you come into contact with them is a bit disrespectful. Actually it's quite a repulsive practice. Maybe we didn't grow up drinking the same kind of milk.

Despite your poor attempts at trolling me, I'll give you a few minutes of my day to explain- but don't expect much more if you continue this nonsense.

When person A says "Hi guys I just bought a boxster",

and then immediately person B says "pics or it didnt happen", then person B is saying they don't believe that person A truly owns a boxster and is, in fact, accusing them of lying about their claim of owning a boxster.

So a new member comes in to say hello, hasn't really gotten to know the community yet and doesn't take the time to post pics with their first post. One of their first interactions with the community will be dealing with a bunch of strangers accusing them of being a liar. really fun time.

If you could follow the conversation, you would realize that I'm not talking about anyone calling me a liar in this instance, rather "jcslocum" insinuating that the original poster is lying.

You are reading far more into this than there is. It's all in good fun and part of welcoming someone. "Picks or it didn't happen" is an expression, not an attack. No one is calling anyone a liar.

As most here are enthusiasts, we like to see other peoples cars. To my knowledge, no one has been ostracized or kicked out of the forum for not posting a pic

In addition to inventing the internet, most of the technology that is in use today was invented by us old farts as well. I was using e-mail back in the late 70's, before it was even called e-mail
