very short range on remote

I've noticed that my key fob remote will lock/unlock the car only within a few feet. The battery has been changed and there's no difference. It's not a huge problem, but I saw something about an immobiliser antenna mentioned in another post. I've searched but I haven't seen any useful information on this. Anyone have any experience with this?

Take the driver side a pillar off, there is a wiring loom there should be a copper wire with a clear coating on it. Take that and put it on the outside of the loom should help a bit.

Try another battery too

Worth a try

To increase the range a bit, hold the remote up to the underside of your chin and press the button. This uses your body as a large antenna. I read this on a thread here a while back and was very skeptical, but after trying it I was able to increase the range. Can't be any worse then holding a cell phone to your ear if you are worried about cancer.

This does actually work. I read that you hold it to your head and the fluid in your skull that protects the brain acts as an antenna. We tried it and actually increased range by 9'.

Does it vary depending on your IQ level? :p
If I get 10 feet, do I get bragging rights?

I'd try it, but I'm afraid my IQ would decrease the range [emoji12]
