Damn Frustrating - Chasing Changing Symptoms

Sometimes, I'd like to drive my 01S off a bridge!

About a month ago, I tried to open the top. Here's what I found. Park light works on the instrument panel when turning the key. It didn't light when I pulled up on the parking brake. Widows dropped when I undid the latch. Nothing happened when I pushed the button to lower the top. Looked like the parking brake switch needed replacement.

So a week later the parking brake switch is replaced. The dash light worked with the key, but it still didn't work after pulling up the brake. The widows, which dropped before, no longer dropped after unlatching the roof. Surprisingly, the roof went up an down as it would normally after pushing the button on the center console. Looked like the problem might be the switch up near the latch.

So two weeks later, the switch by the latch is replaced. Now everything works, except the park light still wont come on when I pull up the brake. It does light up with the key.

Now I've learned everything is interconnected and all electrics go through convertible top control unit. So one is on order, When it arrives I'll plug it in and hope for the best.

No codes, no faults, no nothing...just a bunch of things not working normally as the saga continued on and on.

At Porsche prices, this trail and error way of fixing problems is frustrating. Hence, the desire to drive the car off a bridge
