Well that was closer than I'd like!

This happened right behind me this evening....

One of those things that makes you think: "if I had left the house literally 3 seconds later...."

The black car wasn't paying attention, and the red car was going so far over the speed limit that it landed a long way from the scene. I got showered with car parts but it doesn't look like I took any damage. Having my tires inspected tomorrow for debris.
Just crazy!

Yes sir..... the butterfly effect. With all of the driving you do you need a dash camera!

Glad you are okay!

I had a close call a few years ago, a drunk driver in an SLS nearly T-boned me running a red light, then got up to about 80mph on a surface street before hitting a tree and cement block wall. Not pretty.

Stay defensive and aware, you never know when someone else is not 100%.

I'm placing blame squarely on the Florida plate.

Last night we saw a car need to be flat bedded from a 10mph roundabout. How does that happen????

Thanks guys!
I'd actually thought about a dash cam a time or two for that very reason.
Sounds like you all have had some close calls too. Seems like it's ten times worse out there these days since "distracted driving" has become such an issue. There's a video I saw somewhere where a girl was killed in a wreck while taking a "selfie" while driving. Unreal.

Cell Jammers are a wonderful thing.
Puts an end to distracted drivers around you.
Great safety feature.

Handy in the Gym as well with the dumb asses sitting on your machine for 30 minutes doing nothing but yapping.

FL.. where bad drivers and super-elderly drivers congregate together. I believe it, I see it every day

I like the cell jammer idea. However, I do notice that my worst driving occurs when my directions app fails to get a signal. A jammer would then defeat the purpose if everyone around me is getting directions too.

Glad you are okay. Watch for me on the nightly news someday. I swear I am going to strangle somebody, someday for texting while missing the fact that the light has changed.

FL is the worse in terms of texting and distracted people especially because until 2 years ago it was LEGAL to use the phone while driving. as if people were not bad enough drivers.

just this morning a mini SUV almost ran me into the curb while dodging the car in front which has been breaking steadily but hey.. our genius was busy hitting that like button on Facebook. i swerved left and braked but it was a CLOSE one. not even a "soooorrryy..." gesture.

between texting and yellow cab drivers you have to be a road warrior to survive in FL.

I was a little shocked to find out recently that using your phone (phone calls or texting) is perfectly legal for adults here. It's only illegal for those under 21. Legislation is in the works to remedy that, but I was appalled to find out that this was the case

Thank you everyone! Crazy stories!
I also had a close call a few weeks ago as an old pickup entered the highway and plowed across all three lanes without looking. I had to slam on my brakes and swerve to keep the front clip from being ripped off. I don't know if he was on the phone or just an idiot. Or both.
If it wasn't for the handling of this car they would probably have been picking me out of the divider wall for most of the afternoon.
