This looks to be an amazing event... wish I was closer to be able to attend (Canada). I just got my tickets to the Canada F1 event so looking forward to that!!
You guys must be getting the 2 for 1 deals on cars and parts.
FrankenCayman...Interesting.
You need team stickers.

2014 Festival of Speed Clip
I don't know about other areas but southern Cali is a pretty active area with half a dozen great tracks within decent driving distance, auto-crosses at a re-purposed airbase, tracks and assorted other big parking lots.
You could go racing every weekend if you wanted.

My brother Danny ran a 986 with me in PCA Time Trials for a long time. He has now transitioned to a Cayman but "off the lot" was not an option for him. CC12 is the class he is running compared to my car in CC08. He says it's "just an S" but I know better. Closer to a well sorted GT-4 or Cayman Clubsport I'd say. Whew!
Looks like some rain is pretty certain this weekend so bring your rain tires, rain gear, and disconnect your rear sway.

I saw the #85 run on Friday. Man that is a nice/fast/impressive car. I spoke to a guy in the stands, that was timing his laps. He claimed it had won the 24 hour of Spa in it's class. No pictures/no proof but what a car.
Lower turn out this year. Weather kept people away Friday and Saturday. I live 20 minutes west of the track and it hasn't rained at my house yet today.
Visited with the forum guys except Tom was on the track everytime I swung by to say Hi.
Missed Jager as well.
Spent my time shooting video, Auto-Xing and track tour on Saturday.

Was there on the Saturday - lucky that the rain stayed away (apart from a few light sprinkles).
The track tour was fun - managed 109mph on the banking just trying to stay with the car in front!
A suggestion to the organizers - how about some chairs and tables in the area where the food trucks were! Make it nice to sit and chat while eating.
Looks like Tom Stone and I were running very similar times this weekend.
Yep - very similar times. I think that 1:57.2 was my best time for the weekend. Of course, that was during a dry session! In Sunday afternoon's race in the rain, I was running 2:05 to avoid doing something stupid (like crashing!).

A very fun weekend overall. My brother and I kept busy instructing in Yellow and I spent time with 3 students including Mike, Jay, and Steve. They all did great in their first visit to the Auto Club Roval Super Speedway.
Cars ran great, tires worked, lap times were logged. A little rain here and there just kept it interesting out in turns 1&2.
Tom: Best lap 1:57.14 VERY close times.
