Coolant leak
Ok. This is my last attempt to post to this forum. My others have not posted. I have a 2001 Boxster s. When my wife returned from a recent drive, two hours each way, coolant was pouring out from under the car. When I add coolant in the reservoir in the trunk it pours out underneath the car in the middle of the engine. Just a steady stream. Does anyone have any idea how this is happening?

I believe there is a weep port at the water pump in about that location,
when the seal is going it first goes out there, then tru seal into engine, killing engine.
Stop driving it, and check it out...

Thanks for the feedback. My previous posts didn't post but this one did. Planning on taking it to the mechanic but just a bit panicked. Dreading the bill.

I did mine at home. If you can half way turn a wrench, it's a pretty easy job.
Lots of step by step DIY instructions here and elsewhere on the web.

A few pictures to show you what and where things are.
View from under the front seats looking back.
A different view from the pass side.
Water =pump

This is really helpful! Thanks a bunch. I think my problem with posting to the forum was my iphobe browser, chrome. It didn't seem to actually submit. Safari works fine. Sorry if it seemed I was bashing the forum.
I just need a lift now. It looks straight forward. It seems odd that it is leaking from the back part of the engine almost immediately when I refill the reservoir. Could it be a hose? Where does the coolant go immediately after the reservoir? It's like it is draining and running to the lowest point of the "skid plate" and then to the floor. Thanks again.

You don't need a lift if you have a few wobble sockets.
That being said...piece of cake on a lift!

No lift needed... I did mine while it was perched on 18" tall stands. Lots of clearance.
As for where it's leaking from, lift the car and stick yourself underneath while a volunteer fills the reservoir.

That back of the engine is the coolant reservoir. It may be cracked, a very common problem.
