Replacement top transmissions compatability

I am replacing my old 1998 convertible top transmissions.
Part # 986.561.179.02 (left)
and # 986.561.180.01 (right).
There is a used pair on e-bay out of car listed at 67,000 miles.
Part # 986.561.179.03 (left)
#986.561.180.03 (right).
Also listed is another pair but #987.561.179.03 and #987.561.180.03 for slightly newer boxsters.
Will either of these work ? Is the travel length the same ? The transmissions are quite different looking compared to my old stock ones.
I know I have to use special stud standoff's. Should I replace the drive gears also as a precaution. (non-metallic). I think Pelican have both gears and studs.

The .03 will work. The transmissions in 2000 and later cars are different and will not work.
