headlight coverup

Has anybody ever seen this? Found this on Los Angeles Craigs list. Looks like a blacked out section of the "scambled egg" headlight so it looks like an oval. The photo is a 2003 911

Usually people add the 997 or 987 turn signals below the headlight when they do this. Just covering up the signal isn't road legal.

There are actually many different versions of this concept. To each his own.

It looks like tinted headlight film - similar to mine. The oval headlight is cut out - so it is just the surround that is tinted.
