For point of reference, when I was purchasing my base, I had them "due bill" the windstop + colored caps ($185) for $500. Granted, they were "sweetening" the deal, but I think $700-800 dollars is ridiculous. But then again, so is $185 for four multi-colored plastic disks.
I think if you ordered the parts and looked at the install on someone else's 987 you could figure it out, as it doesn't strike me as particularly intricate.
