Striped maf torxs

Previous owner did me no favors by striping most of the MAF torxs head, I finished the process today while trying to remove the MAF. Searched the forum on how to get those buggars out and had no luck. Anyone w/experience removing them.

As they are not overly tight, a small easy out should break them loose. Barring that, use a Dremel tool to cut a slot into them and use a screw driver.

Do you need to bust the security post out before you try the easy out or go through it?

You may need to grind it away to get the easy out to bite.

Might small vice grips do the trick?

That's what I used before getting the right tool to remove them.

If you get a paintbrush and paint a stripe on them, they're striped.

If you round out the bolt head, it's stripped.

Maybe you could grab the head with a pair of cutters/dykes and remove it, I think.it is just threaded into plastic.

IKCHRIS,

Appreciate the spelling lesson, however, not very helpful in removing the torxs.

Spelling does matter sometimes. I honestly read this thread to see why he had stripes on his MAF torx . Sounds like he got some good advice for removing them.
