Tampa Bay Area Paint/Body Guy?

I have a scratch on the rear bumper that's bugging me in a big way. I'm terrible at touch-up, so does anyone know someone that you'd trust? I can put a blob of paint on it like most folks would, but I want someone to make it disappear without spraying clear on the surrounding area, etc.

Any recommendations on someone that's masterful at scratch repair?

Thanks!

Have you looked into the Dr color chip kit? It's gonna be a lot cheaper than a body shop.

Nice to see another local from my area. Here is a link to a great shop in Safety Harbor:

Please give him a call. His name is Rick, I have taken multiple cars including my Boxster to him and he does fantastic work.

I have tried out a total of 5 body shops in the Tampa area (Tampa, Brandon, Riverview & Ruskin) and I wouldn't recommend any of them. I tried all of them through recommendations by co-workers or other auto-enthusiasts and they were all pitiful.

In fact, the last one I used in Brandon still has my 986. I had a front bumper cover, side skirts and side mirror covers painted... they still have my car in their shop 5 months later. The quality of their work is excellent (probably the best of all the shops I have tried) but 5 months?!?!? I'll finally have her back on Feb 1st...

The Porsche specialist I use for mechanical work (who is excellent!) and has been in the area for 40+ years, wouldn't recommend a body shop in the area to me. That says a lot about what is available around here.

That's disheartening...I gave it a try with the Porsche brand touch-up, but botched it up pretty badly, and this coming from someone who used to work with a guy restoring vintage Thunderbird's no doubt! I could prep and paint a car, but I'll be darned if I just can't fix a simple scratch...

Maybe I'll ask one of the dealers where they take the new cars that might come in with a scratch or two...

Try Bedrock Collision Center on Nebraska Ave. I know the owners from way back. They painted a '63 356B for me.

dijinn - Do you mind sharing the name of the mechanic you use? I wouldn't mind having a Porsche specialist, as my mechanic specializes in English vehicles.
