New Member and Happy Owner of 1998 Boxster
Hello...I just purchased a new-to-me 1998 White Porsche Boxster. I only had it for a week and it already stole my heart. It has 52K miles on it, paint is like new, no dings or scratches on the body and the leather chairs has no "butt marks" LOL!!
On researching about my car I stumbled upon this forum and I am looking forward to reading all your informative posts here. In the meantime let me introduce you to my lovely new Porsche Boxster. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1449021810.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1449021827.jpg |
welcome!
Nice looking car and you even have a matching dog |
Never seen white before on a boxster. Looks great with the black roof and trim.
Enjoy the ride. |
Congrats! I've had two 98's, both were great cars!
|
Very nice acquisition. I am a fan of white on the Boxster myself.

Yes, pictures on the first post so we know it happens.
Congrats on the boxster and welcome to the forum. Red is my color, unfortunately my dogs do not match. ;) |
Looks like a well-cared for Porsche. Congrats!

Congrats and welcome!
Nice car! Good luck with it. I suggest you join the PCA as well. Tons of great information, support and friends there as well.
Our dog is white as well and she doesn't shed, so she is welcome in our Box any time :) |

Two cars in one
Nice color, lol mine is white with tan top and interior. The top is down almost all the time and it is a different car from driving with the top up. My advice to you is read about how to exercise the motor which by the way is rather small but more than enough if you keep the rpm up. This car is amazing, enjoy.:dance:

Welcome, I'll 2nd the PCA membership. Zone 8 is really active. Lots of events, track days, DE, etc. A lot of dealers will provide a 10% discount, if you show your card. Plus, the PCA throws in a subscription to PANORAMA.
If you can't have silver, I suppose white is a good alternate.:D Happy Motoring |
No luggin allowed
Since the motor is smaller the rpm must be kept up to not put strain on it. The mistake people make is they shift out way to early and lug the motor around. I don't shift until between three and four grand on the average. It may sound like you are reving the car to death but you aren't , this car was made to drive it like you stole it .

Sounds like you happened upon a Boxster like mine. I have a white 98 with about 50K miles in excellent condition. Inside and out. Have fun with it !
