No, but if you turn on your ignition with them removed you'll get an airbag fault light that will have to be reset by someone with the proper equipment.

The large electrical connector under the seat (if you have the full electric seats) can be tricky at times, but no need to disconnect the power. And yes, don't turn on the ignition switch once the connector is disassembled or you will trigger the seat belt warning light.

I have removed mine frequently to change racing seats in and out, and you will latch the warning light on. I bypassed the small connector to ensure the light worked OK.
