soft top won't raise

I have had trouble several times raising convertable top when outside temp gets above 85. Dealer can't find problem as he can never get it to happen when he has it. 03 boxster S 17,000 miles. Has anyone ever heard of this?

Hi,

I cannot see the heat having anything to do with it and suspect it may be coincidental. However, the #1 issue with the Power Top always seems to be either of the two micro-switches. The one in the Windshield Header and the one on the Parking Brake.

It might be possible that a component in one of these expands from the heat which causes it not to operate. Concentrate on these and either pull them and check to insure that they are clean and operating properly, or replace them. Hope this helps...
