steved0x Registered User Join Date: Dec 2012 Location: FL Posts: 4,144	It is (I believe) to lock the top so you can't open it if you have the roof transport system installed with the top down. As a benefit you get the motion detector enabled since the car thinks the top is up. Lately I have not been enabling my alarm since I had it go off one time when my phone mount fell.off the windshield while the car was parked causing the alarm to go off
